Trees in backyards<\/h2>\n

I am passionate about the need to plant more trees in our gardens and suburbs. \u00a0Domestic and street trees have a number of really important benefits which can be roughly grouped into four categories:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \u00a0health,<\/li>\n
  2. aesthetic,<\/li>\n
  3. environmental; and<\/li>\n
  4. economic.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    For example one benefit is that they provide valuable heat reduction, shading windows and walls, and reducing the need for air conditioning. \u00a0A well treed neighbourhood can negate the heat island effect of hard surfaces which increases temperatures by 3-7 degrees which will also reduce energy bills for households by 15-35 %.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
