New dates: Saturday 10th October or Monday 12th October.
Wanting to develop your own productive vegie patch or yummy yard? Looking for information and inspiration to get started? Want the basics made simple?
Learn from Sophie Thomson, media gardening personality and obsessive-compulsive vegetable grower, the nitty gritty of setting up your own vegie garden patch as she covers the essential details such as soil, compost, irrigation, seasonal planting, seeds vs seedlings. Learn too about how to bring in the good bugs to help manage the bad and deal with potential problems within your fledgling garden.
In addition, Sophie will take you on a tour of her different productive areas at Sophie’s Patch, which include both extensive in ground gardens and wicking beds, to give you the opportunity of exploring what is possible and what is right for you.
The day includes morning tea with delicious cakes made from Sophie’s vegies. Lunch includes a fun treat when Sophie teams up with her good friend Sally Tonkin, country cook and baker of Sophie’s famous produce cakes, for a ‘Cook and the Gardener’ look at real cooking using produce from the garden. And yes you do get to sample it too!
