About this Event

Friday 17 July: Morning and Afternoon sessions.

Saturday 18 July: Morning session

Sophie’s Patch is delighted to announce two new, very special events – grafting workshops where master grafters and fruit tree experts Wez Redden and Chris Day (Every day Sustainable Living and @Cockatoo Creek Farm) will teach you everything you need to know about grafting including the theory and hands on demonstrations of grafting scions (delicious varieties of fruit) onto rootstocks (the strong roots to grow your fruit). Once you’re comfortable, you will be able to graft your very own fruit trees to take home.

Two courses are being offered on Friday 17th July – 9.30 to 12noon and 1.30pm – 4pm and each session will include morning or afternoon tea made from Sophie’s Patch home grown produce.

Included:

The course includes a premium grafting knife RRP $30, three rootstocks (such as one apple, one pear and one plum), a selection of scions for you to choose from (the fruit tree material you graft on top of the rootstock) and take home notes so you don’t forget this amazing new skill.

Numbers are limited so get in early.
