“Even with 38 years of pruning experience in our commercial apricot orchard I soon learnt from listening to Harry Harrison that I don’t know it all. Attending Harry’s “Summer Fruit Tree Pruning” workshop recently held at Sophie’s Patch has given me a whole new set of parameters to work on. My quest is to keep improving fruit production . After listing to and watching Harry at work I soon learnt the importance of summer pruning to help achieve that goal and have already put his advice into practice.”
I’m really excited to offer further Summer Pruning workshops on 1st and 2nd March.
March 1st or 2nd
9.30am – 12.30pm
Learn from fruit tree guru Harry Harrison how to get maximum fruit from your trees and keep them to a manageable size so you don’t need ladders to pick their fruit or prune them.
Summer pruning will benefit your deciduous fruit trees in shaping younger tree as they develop, helping to reduce size, reducing or possibly eliminating winter pruning and importantly improving the health of the tree and quality of your fruit.
If you wish to actively participate in practical ‘hands on’ pruning, please arrive 30 minutes early and bring your own secateurs, saws and tools. Arriving early means that your tools can be sterilized, lubricated and sharpened if required.
Numbers are strictly limited so book early.
Hot Weather Cancellation Policy – If the temperature for Mt Barker on the Bureau of Meteorology website at 7pm on the evening before is predicted to be 35 degrees or above on the day of the class, it will be cancelled, and a full refund offered. Please check the forecast.
